Canada Summer Games 2013

In the spring and summer of 2013 a group of athletes, coaches and supporters from the greater sailing community began training for the 2013 Canada Games.    The group trained out of the Royal Newfoundland Yacht Club from late March until late June before leaving for a 5-week campaign.  The campaign consisted of traveling to Nova Scotia and coordinating the purchase and acquisition of a coach boat.  Competing in (their first) two regattas in Nova Scotia, one regatta in Kingston Ontario and cumulating in the ultimate goal of successfully competing at the 2013 Summer Canada Games in Sherbrooke, Quebec.

The efforts and accomplishments of that team and supporters have been the catalyst behind a resurgence in organized sailing in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.  For a full report of the 2013 NL Canada Games Team the the lessons learned please check out our NL Sailing Team 2013 Canada Games Report.
